Outcome summary
On 22 July 2025, the Professional Conduct Committee suspended Mr Rahman’s suspension for 6 months with a review. On 6 October 2025, the Professional Standards Authority appealed against the Committee's decision on 22 July 2025. Before the appeal was heard, at a review hearing on 9 February 2026, the Professional Conduct Committee revoked the suspension on Mr Rahman's registration and imposed conditions for 18 months. The Committee also imposed an immediate conditions order. On 26 June 2026, the High Court allowed the Professional Standards Authority’s appeal and quashed the original sanction imposed by the Professional Conduct Committee of six months suspension with a review. The subsequent conditions of practice order imposed on 9 February 2026 therefore falls away. The High Court has remitted the decision on sanction to a freshly constituted panel of the Professional Conduct Committee. Mr Rahman has given an undertaking that he will continue to comply with the terms of the conditions order made on 9 February 2026 until the matter of what, if any, interim order is necessary can be determined by a further GDC Interim Orders Committee.
