Catherine Pease

Catherine has practised as a solicitor for 15 years, specialising in mental health and mental capacity law. The bulk of her work involves representing people subject to the Mental Health Act (1983) at First-tier Tribunals. She is a member of the Law Society’s Mental Health Accreditation Scheme. Before converting to law, Catherine obtained a first class BSc (Hons) degree in psychology.  This took her to Australia where she worked at Griffith University, Brisbane, as a senior research officer on a project aimed at improving the life chances for children in disadvantaged areas of Queensland. Catherine returned to the UK in 2002 in order to begin her legal career.
