Victoria Hewson

Victoria qualified as a Dental Nurse at the Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield in 1995 and has a broad range of professional experience in general dental practice, the community dental service and in the higher education sector. Victoria began her academic career at the University of Hull in 2004 developing a wealth of academic experience in undergraduate Degree and Degree Apprenticeship education. As a Senior Lecturer and recognised Senior Fellow of AdvancedHE, Victoria has significant experience in strategic leadership and management evidenced by her former roles including Head of Department (Nursing) and Head of Apprenticeships (Quality of Education) at the University of Hull.
Victoria currently works as an Education Associate with the General Dental Council undertaking quality assurance inspections of professional dental education providers. She is also a Fitness to Practise Panellist for the Dental Professionals Hearings Service. Victoria continues to be a registered Dental Care Professional and an External Examiner with research and scholarship outputs and interests in oral health, mouth care, promoting health and preventing ill health.
