Rita is a retired Detective Superintendent with 35 years policing experience in both the Metropolitan Police and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

She is currently an independent member of the Parole Board for England and Wales and a lay member of the Bar Tribunal and Adjudication Service (BTAS) for England and Wales
