Matthew Thomas Smith
Matthew qualified with Honours from the University of Sheffield in 2011. At graduation he was awarded the British Dental Association Prize for Restorative Dentistry, and the James E. Swindels Prize for General Dental Practice (the latter being for demonstrating outstanding all-round patient care).
Matthew undertook his Foundation Training in South Yorkshire, before securing associate dentist roles in Rotherham and then in his native Newcastle upon Tyne. His focus throughout his career so far has been primarily on NHS dentistry, with a particular emphasis on helping those in need access emergency dental appointments.
Expanding on his role within dentistry, in 2025 Matthew became a clinical development advisor. This has enabled him to support the continued growth and training of other dental colleagues.
