Kira Stearns

Kira Stearns qualified as a dental hygienist and dental therapist from the Barts and the London school of Medicine and Dentistry in 2000. She has worked in a variety of NHS, private and specialist practices in London, as well as the community dental service and has served as Chair of The British Association of Dental Therapists. Kira completed an MA in Medical Education in 2011 and has been involved in teaching dental hygiene and dental therapy students at Portsmouth Dental Academy, Kings College London and is currently employed as a lecturer in dental therapy at Queen Mary University. She is involved in providing postgraduate education as the training programme lead for the dental therapist foundation training programme in NHSE Thames Valley and Wessex, where she also oversees a return to dental therapy scheme and an international graduate dental therapy programme. Kira completed the NHS Mary Seacole Leadership programme in 2025
