Alan McCrum
Alan McCrum brings over 30 years of distinguished policing experience with the Royal Ulster Constabulary and the Police Service of Northern Ireland. A graduate of the UK College of Policing's Strategic Command Course. Alan has extensive expertise in strategic partnership development, change management, leadership, and ethics.
Since retiring from policing in 2015, Alan has established and led his own security sector reform consultancy. Notably, he served for over four years as Project Director of the UK Government-funded Conflict, Stability and Security Fund (CSSF) policing programme in Lebanon, where he directed British support for policing reform efforts.
Alan currently serves as Vice Chair of South Eastern Regional College in Northern Ireland and is a Lay Chair of the Fitness to Practice Committee for the Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC). In addition, he is a Trustee and non-executive Director of a Northern Ireland-based victims’ charity. He also practices as an accredited psychotherapist, working with both the NHS and in private practice.
Alan holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Studies and a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Ulster. He is also an alumnus of the Windsor Leadership Trust
