Nora Nanayakkara

Nora has maintained a portfolio career of non-executive roles, consultancy and professional regulation services since 2009, when she was appointed as a non executive Director (2009-2015) to the Board of Nominet, the technology company that manages the .uk domain name registry. In 2013, she was appointed to the Steering Board of The IPO, which is the official UK government body responsible for intellectual property (IP) rights.

In 2016, she was appointed to the Board of the UK Statistics Authority (UKSA), which promotes and safeguards the production and publication of official statistics that serve the public good. Nora has also served as an independent Non Executive Director on the inaugural Audit and Assurance Board of the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), where she also contributed to its Performance Subcommittee.

Prior to 2009, Nora developed her career in the fast-paced digital and technology start-up sector and has worked in digital service and programme delivery as well as operations management in the UK, Germany and the US.  She completed her MBA in 2007. Nora is a co-opted independent member of Audit and Risk Committees at both the Bar Council and Epping Forest District Council and previously served as Senior Independent Trustee and Chair of the Audit Committee (2015-2018) at Nominet Trust, the UK’s leading tech-for-good/social tech funder. Nora has recently been appointed lay Fitness to Practice Panellist at the General Osteopathic Council.
